ABOUT US
pythonproperties, initially working in partnership with Sponsors Club for Arts and Business and Middlesbrough Borough Council, have developed an extremely successful Art Gallery in a key regeneration area in Middlesbrough.
Now into its third successful year, the Python Gallery has become a registered charity. We feel this will allow us to cement the work we have previously achieved and to develop further our ethos of supporting all forms of creativity: locally, regionally and at an international level.
As an exhibition and events space the pythongallery has been a great success. It has had a dynamic range of events, from book launches, poetry readings and also a performance of Tosca by Street Wise Opera. It has held exhibitions featuring regional and national artists and as its reputation has grown over the last three years, the gallery is now being approached by artists from across the UK and abroad.
Juliet Farrar, Head of Cultural Services, at Middlesbrough Council, says: “As part of the Cultural Strategy for the town, the need was identified for Culture Sites – places where people could experience art and spaces where the great talent of local artists could have a home and be experienced by a wider audience. The pythongallery is a fantastic example of this and of partnership working between the private sector, arts community and the local authority.”
